Reception locations: Look for it yourself but how big?

Well after all the email conversations with wedding planners, we found the place for the wedding reception ourselves. I had known about the place a while ago, but the thing that put me off was the that it limited the number of guests that we could invite. However it has become evident that for reception locations anything over 100 guests in the Czech Republic is considered huge. In fact most weddings in the Czech Republic would only have upto 50 guests. Large wedding reception locations are therefore hard to find and quite expensive. (Well most reception locations are expensive, but you know what I mean!) The positive thing about the location that it is a hotel so that guests can stay there if they want to.

Wedding planners

I thought we were doing well when we sorted a caterer out (a friend of Almut's). But because we have had some trouble finding a location for the reception, we have started asking wedding planners for some of their locations. Have had three types of responses:

• No response
• We only do full wedding planning, not just reception locations.
• Yes we can help you. This is what we offer... but it will cost more because you have your own caterer... And maybe you would like these additional services as well...
